EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

When Liberty County Sheriff Bobby Rader announced the Employee of the Month for the Sheriff’s Office last week, perhaps the first thing that might come to mind is that good employees who are consistent in their job ethics and continues to strive for further perfection are the ones who rises above all others. This and more can be said about Linda Chapman who has been the Civil Process Coordinator since coming to work for the Sheriff’s Office in February 2016. One might even recall that it was this same month last year that Chapman was honored with this same monthly award which only reinforces the aspect of “consistency” and outstanding leadership qualities.

Chapman heads up the division that by her own words are probably the least understood division within the Sheriff’s Office as her function is strictly civil actions and not criminal in nature. Since taking over this very active division in 2016 the workload has more than doubled. From October of 2018 to August 2019 there was over 1,700 various papers received and served by this unit that is composed of two civilian employees and two Deputies who actually serve the papers and this workload is expected to double again within another year due to the population explosion of Liberty County.

Serving Citations, Notices of Hearings, Order of Sales, Writs of Executions and an assortment of other papers is a never ending job as are Writs of Attachments which puts the entire unit on a 24/7 operational basis as it involves child custody disputes. In this respect there are no lunch breaks and entails working on week-ends and holidays if called upon to do so.

It is this type of assignment dedication and high work standards that once again brings Linda Chapman to the forefront of the Sheriff’s work force and gives both the community and Chapmans fellow co-workers the opportunity to extend a well-deserved congratulations to Linda Chapman for being selected as the Employee of the Month for September, 2019. Thank you
